Jubail is a city situated in the Eastern Province along the coast of the Persian Gulf in Saudi Arabia. It boasts the largest industrial city globally and is also the site of SABIC, the largest petrochemical company in the Middle East and the fourth largest in the world.
The economy of Saudi Arabia is dominated by petroleum and its associated industries. In terms of oil reserves, Saudi Arabia ranks first internationally, with about one-fifth of the world's known reserves. Oil deposits are located in the east, southward from Iraq and Kuwait into the RubĘż al-Khali and under the waters of the Persian Gulf.
Exports consist almost entirely of petroleum and petroleum products. Major imports are machinery and transport equipment, foodstuffs and animals, and chemicals and chemical products. The principal trading partners are the United States, China, India, and Japan, and the United Arab Emirates is an increasingly significant source of imports.
